How much does it cost to rent a wedding venue in Mexico City?+
It depends on the neighborhood, capacity, season, and what the rental includes. A ballroom in Polanco or Lomas usually costs more than a garden in the south of the city, and a high-season Saturday more than a Friday or Sunday. On Venueboard you can compare venues by price range and contact each venue directly for a real quote on your date — no middlemen.
What does an all-inclusive venue actually include?+
Typically the rental of the space, furniture (tables, chairs, linens), catering with service staff, and sometimes audio and lighting, event coordination, and valet parking. Every venue defines it differently: its Venueboard profile shows which services are included in the price, which are optional at extra cost, and which are exclusive to the house.
How far in advance should I book a venue?+
For weddings and quinceañeras, 9 to 12 months is the safe window — especially for a high-season Saturday (March–June and September–December). For corporate events and birthdays, 1 to 3 months is usually enough. Venueboard's real-time availability calendars let you see which dates are still open before you reach out.
Can I bring my own catering or outside vendors?+
It depends on the venue. Some allow outside vendors freely, others charge corkage or a per-vendor fee, and some work only with in-house services. Each venue's Venueboard profile specifies which services are included, optional, exclusive, or open to outside vendors, so you know before requesting a quote.
Do venues have parking?+
Many venues have their own parking or valet service, especially the larger ones. In central Mexico City neighborhoods like Roma or Condesa, agreements with nearby parking garages are common. Check the parking section of the venue's profile or ask directly through the contact form.
What's the difference between a garden, a ballroom, and a hacienda?+
A garden is an open-air space, ideal for daytime ceremonies in mild weather; it usually needs a tent in the rainy season. A ballroom is enclosed and climate-controlled, with more flexible hours and no dependence on the weather. A hacienda combines both: historic buildings with courtyards and gardens, highly sought after for weddings in Querétaro, Morelos, and San Miguel de Allende.
What kinds of events work well on a terrace?+
Terraces are great for cocktail parties, birthdays, farewells, brand launches, corporate dinners, and intimate weddings. In Mexico City, rooftops with a view are among the most requested spaces for events of 50 to 150 guests. Always have a plan B for rain — many venues with a terrace also have a covered area.
When is the best time for a wedding in Valle de Bravo?+
The dry season, November through May, is the most reliable for outdoor events with a lake view. From June to October the landscape is at its greenest, but plan the ceremony early and secure a tent, since rain tends to fall in the afternoon. Holiday weekends are reserved many months in advance.
Do I need permits for my event?+
In most cases the venue already operates with the necessary permits and will tell you if your event requires anything extra, such as outdoor sound permits or civil protection for large events. Ask the venue through the contact form which paperwork it covers and which is up to you as the organizer.
Can I visit the venue before booking?+
Yes. Many venues on Venueboard have virtual tours and videos on their profile so you can do a first cut from home — especially useful if you're planning from abroad — and all of them welcome scheduled visits: message them through the contact form to see the space, review setups, and resolve questions in person.
Which areas does Venueboard cover?+
Today you'll find venues in Mexico City, Querétaro, Morelos (Tepoztlán), Acapulco, Valle de Bravo, and San Miguel de Allende, and we keep adding spaces and destinations. If you're looking for an area that isn't listed yet, write to us through the concierge service and we'll help you find options.
How do I know how many guests fit in a venue?+
Every profile shows the venue's capacity by setup type: a banquet with a dance floor is not the same as theater seating or a standing cocktail. As a rule, a banquet needs more space per person than a conference. Use the capacity filters in the search and confirm the exact setup you're planning with the venue.
